Access to the hotel is restricted to yacht (water) and helicopter (air) only. The hotel contains 438 suites, private cinemas, luxury boutiques, conference rooms, an underwater restaurant with views into the surrounding lagoon, an underwater gym, spa and art gallery. The hotel’s internal facade has louvers to prevent direct sunlight and will made up of solar cells as is the ribbon that frames the building that can generate some energy for the entire hotel!

Omniyat announces Dh.6bn worth real estate projects in Dubai


Omniyat Properties on Monday announced three real estate projects in Dubai, worth Dh.6 billion, as it tries to build its place as one of the leading developers in the emirate.

The Opus DubaiThe first among three projects is an office complex, worth Dh.1.5billion in Business Bay. The other two are mixed-use developments which would comprise residential units, shopping malls and hotels, with one on Dubai Waterfront worth Dh.2 billion, adjacent to the Palm Jebel Ali, and the other, worth Dh.2.5 billion, in The Lagoons, overlooking the Wildlife Sanctuary.

All the three projects are scheduled for completion by mid-2008. Omniyat expects that the launches will bring in a real estate investment of nearly Dh.10 billion by 2008.

None of the three projects will, however be displayed in the Cityscape real estate expo in Dubai, as Omniyat plans to showcase 'The Opus', a Business Bay development at the expo.

Few other projects that Omniyat is currently working on, includes Bayswater, One Business Bay, The Gemini, The Binary, The Pad and The Square.

Dubai Properties to unveil two new projects at Cityscape Dubai

Leading real estate developer, Dubai Properties, has announced their plans to unveil two new real estate projects in Dubailand and Business Bay, costing Dh.40 billion, during the Cityscape Dubai 2007, the largest mega-event pertaining to business and property in the region.

Bay AvenueDubai Properties will showcase its signature developments, including the Executive Towers, Business Bay Vision Tower, The Villa and the freehold residential community in Mediterranean Style, and the Al Waha Villas in Dubailand.

The CEO of Dubai Properties, Mohamed Binbrek, said "Cityscape is a valuable platform for the real estate sector. The participation will help us network with international investors and serious buyers. The event will also be an ideal opportunity for visitors to gain information on the recent sales offerings in our flagship products."

This is the sixth year of the Cityscape show, and this year, about 45,000 or more international and regional investors, governmental and development authorities, real estate developers, consultants, designers, leading architects and senior industry professionals are expected from more than 120 countries.

The Dubai Properties is participating in the show for the fourth consecutive year, this year. The Cityscape Dubai 2007 has been scheduled from 16th October to 18th October 2007 at the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Center.

Al Fara'a to launch apartment complex 'The Manhattan' at Jumeirah Village

The subsidiary of Al Fara'a Construction Group, Al Fara'a Properties, has announced plans to launch the Dh.353mn luxury apartment complex, 'The Manhattan', at the Jumeirah Village, during the coming Cityscape Dubai

Saraya to launch sales of its major projects at Cityscape Show


The up-coming Cityscape event in Dubai, will see Saraya Islands launch the sale of its two new upcoming projects, 'Saraya Village' and 'Al Marsa Island'.

Saraya will also reveal the latest developments happening in the company at its stand at the expo, expected to take place from the 16th to 18th October in Dubai. The Saraya Islands will be developing four distinct islands- Al-Boum, Al-Sahab, Al-Marsa and Al-Wahat, and a mainland village, the Saraya Village.

Timelinks to unveil a new pyramid-shaped project at Cityscape Dubai

Timelinks, the Dubai-based environmental design company, will launch a city of the future, during the upcoming Cityscape Dubai.

The event will be held between the 6th and 9th October at the Dubai International Exhibition Center.

The City, called Ziggurat project, will be shaped in the form of a futuristic pyramid, supporting the entire community, comprising a population of one million, by harnessing the power of nature.

The Managing Director of Timelinks, Ridas Matonis, agrees that Ziggurat communities can be 100 percent self-sufficient in terms of energy. Apart from utilizing the steam power, the building will also employ the wind turbine technology, to exploit natural energy resources.

The Pyramid tower which spreads across 2.3 square kilometer has several other advantages to its credit. The cities can be accommodated in complexes, which will take up only less than 10 percent of the original land space. The private and public landscaping can be used for leisure pursuits or can be irrigated as agricultural land.

"In case these projects were realized, the world will get to witness communities that are sustainable, environment-friendly and in sync with nature's surroundings. The concept will also give a better quality of life for inhabitants. Transportation within the complex will be carried out through an integrated 360 degree network, so that cars would be redundant," said Matonis.

Timelinks has already planned the design and technology to be incorporated into the project. A number of eminent professors from Europe will be available to explain the technicalities of the Ziggurat project works, and the manner in which these communities could be integrated into the master projects.

Dubai Properties to launch Dh.40bn Mudon development at Cityscape


Dubai Properties, a subsidiary of Dubai Properties Group (DPG) has announced that it will release details about its new projects and display existing developments at Cityscape 2008, one of the largest business-to-business realty investments and development events in the world.

One of the developments to be released during the event is the Dh.40bn Mudon master development, which will be displayed on one of the stands of Dubai properties. The first phase of Mudon, the 348 Cairo Townhouses will be made available for sale during the event.

The Mudon Cairo Townhouses are a cluster of two storey, four-bedroom villas, covering 1.4mn square foot of space within the Cairo section of the project. Each villa would include a garage for two cars, a garden and patio and the first-floor terrace. The project will be complete in 2010.

Timelinks has already patented the technology and design incorporated in the project, and has sought for granting of technical projects from the European Union. Dubai's upcoming Projects

"dbi" design created this 5 tower project dubbed 'the ethiad towers'. the project is located on a the waterfront in abu dhabi, near the business district. the 5 towers range in size from 55 to 77 stories.






'the al sharq tower' will be the tallest building on dubai's sheikh zayed road when it will be completed. measuring 360 meters tall, the tower will contain 268 luxury apartments. the building features eight interconnected cylinders which covered in a spiraling filigree. skidmore, owings and merrill designed the structure which is currently under construction.




'the cloud' is a speculative design for a resort city elevated 300 metres in the air above dubai and supported on slanting legs resembling rain. it is designed by nadim karam of lebanese architect atelier hapsitus. it is a horizontal presence on an elevated platform, an antithesis to the sum of skyscrapers spreading over the entire region.






'dubai renaissance' was designed by architects rem koolhaas and fernando donis of OMA for the business bay development competition. their entry lost to hadid's dancing towers.








'0-14 tower' was designed by resier and umemoto and rur architecture pc along with dubai developer, shahab lutfi. the building was designed for dubai's business bay and features 22 floors covered in a double skin facade that's outermost skin is constructed from 40c, thick perforated concrete. The one meter space between the skins creates a chimney effect, cooling the building.





'dubai towers' is the centerpiece for the large 'lagoons' development. the buildings and the development were all conceived of by TVS. the four towers range in size from 54 to 97 floors and were inspired by the flames and movement of candlelight.




the design for abu dhabi's performing arts centre was conceived of by zaha hadid. the building is meant to house music, theater and dance, located on saadiyat island along with the new louvre and guggenheim museum's. the island was intended to be a 'beacon for cultural experience and exchange' by abu dhabi's ruler, sheikh khalifa bin zayed al nahyan.










'The apeiron hotel' will be a 7-star hotel built on an island off of dubai. the arched 185 meter tall hotel will cost 500 million USD. it will have 350 luxury suites that will only be accessible by yacht and helicopter. designed by sybarite uk, the hotel features its own lagoon, beaches, cinemas and at gallery.





rem koolhaas's OMA architects collaborated with porsche design to create the 'porsche towers' in dubai's business bay. the two building complex features a cylindrical tower and a hallow slab which is glassed in the center. the project is currently under construction.

will be home to international franchises and brands such as Manchester United, Butch Harmon School of Golf and David Lloyd's Tennis Academy. The 18-hole Victory Heights championship Golf Course has been designed by the world's current number two golfer, Ernie Els, in association with Nicklaus Design.

Other sporting facilities will include the Plantation, Polo and Equestrian Center. This large project comprises four full-size polo fields, several paddocks for show jumping and dressage as well as a man made cross-country horse competition track complete with ditches, hills and other obstacles.
